The need for clean water

Safe and readily available water is important for public health, whether it is used for drinking, domestic use, food production or recreational purposes. Improved water supply and sanitation, and better management of water resources, can boost countries’ economic growth and can contribute greatly to poverty reduction.

Talent and Sports Activities

It is important that children of this age learn to experience challenges some of the time so that they get used to having to put effort in, building skills of resilience, goal setting and persistence, as well as going through the emotions involved in struggle and subsequent success.

Supporting Widows

Widowhood can affect the physical safety, identity and mobility of women and children. It can also affect their access to basic goods and services necessary for survival, and their rights to inheritance, land and property, in addition to the wider impact it has on the community.
